From 1 March, Blue Islands will allow cats and dogs to fly between Jersey, Guernsey, Southampton and Exeter.
Blue Islands says its new pet transport service will make it easier for pet owners to plan trips and bring new furry friends home from the UK.
The airline will only allow cats and dogs that don't exceed 23kg when placed into an IATA-approved pet carrier.
Islanders will be asked to arrive at the airport with their pet in a crate, check in and proceed through security as normal, and then hand the crate over to aircraft loaders.
The animal would remain in the aircraft's hold throughout the flight and be reunited on the tarmac afterwards.
Pet transport will only be permitted on Blue Island flights between Jersey, Guernsey, Southampton and Exeter.
Blue Islands CEO Rob Veron says these routes typically take less than 50 minutes, causing less stress than longer ferry journeys.
“Whether you’re travelling, relocating, or bringing a new pet from the UK, we’ve created a seamless process to ensure a safe and smooth journey.
This initiative comes in response to growing demand from our community, especially from families looking to bring dogs and cats home to Jersey or Guernsey from the UK.”
It will cost £79 per crate, for a one-way flight, plus the ticket price for its owner who must be on the same aeroplane.
There will be a maximum of two pet carriers per flight.
No pet passports or vaccinations are required.
