A capsized rower has been rescued by Condor Ferries' freight ship.
The crew of the Commodore Goodwill saw his upturned boat five miles off the coast of Alderney at 11:45 on Wednesday morning.
He was taken on board and transferred to Alderney's lifeboat where he was taken back to shore to recover.
The ferry operator's Executive Director of Operations, Elwyn Dop, says the man was 'wet and cold' but otherwise in good health.
"We have a duty of care to not only our passengers and crew, but to extend that to anyone at sea, so it was natural that we went to the rescue.’
"In the difficult times we are currently experiencing, it is gratifying that we were able to help someone in distress and I would like to praise the crew for their vigilance and speedy response in these circumstances."
