Special parking arrangements in Town for the festive period
As Christmas approaches, Traffic and Highway Services is making it easier for Islanders to enjoy the festivities in St Peter Port. From Saturday 30 November, changes will be made to parking arrangements in Town over the festive period to enable people to spend more time shopping and socialising. These will remain in place until Saturday 4 January 2020.
All of the 2-hour disc parking at the Albert Pier, Crown Pier and North Beach car parks will be extended to 3-hour disc parking. In addition to this, the parking restrictions for the 10-hour spaces on North Beach will be removed on Saturdays. This means that there is no time limit on the length of time a vehicle can remain parked in those spaces, and that people parking their vehicles in this area on a Friday will not have to move by 8:00 on Saturday morning.
Members of the public will also be able to park at both Sir Charles Frossard House and Lukis House on Saturday 30 November and every Saturday in December as well as between 18:00-22:00 on Thursdays 5, 12, and 19 December for late night shopping.
Similarly, Guernsey Harbours are also making available the Port Permit spaces at St Julian’s Pier on the southern side of North Beach car park, for public parking on these days/times and this includes some Accessible Parking on the south side of the road.
An additional service will operate on the three Night Owl bus routes, leaving the Town Terminus at 21:30 on the late-night shopping evenings. Further details will be available online from www.buses.gg or by emailing information@buses.gg.
