Average House Price Now £485,000

The average paid for a home in Jersey now stands at £485,000.

That is 7% higher than at the same time a year ago.

It matches London's average price and is more than double the UK average.  It is also around £100,000 more than the Guernsey figure.

Across all property-types, prices have risen by 2% over the past 12 months.

House prices have gone up in three months to October, but flats have dropped in value.

A three bedroom house went for an average £598,000 - up £33,000 on a year ago.

One bedroom flats typically sold for £5,000 less and two bedrooms by £54,000 less.  Both still cost more than last autumn though.

In total 417 properties changed hands, meaning turnover was up 14% for the three months and housing market activity was up 5%.
