There’s confusion over when Jersey’s new hospital is scheduled to open.
The Future Hospital Team say the project if it’s to be built on the current site, will be complete by 2026 but operational by 2024.
However, a document presented to Scrutiny by the Chief Minister says it won’t be finished until the end of 2027.
Future Hospital Scrutiny Chairman Deputy Kevin Pamplin has written a letter to Senator John Le Fondre, asking him to clear up the ‘discrepancy’.
“It is looking like it is very different information to what is provided. We’re in that process of evidence-gathering to quantify the actual truth behind it.

“For me, this process has been going on for long enough with misinformation back and forth so we want to act very quickly to secure the legitimacy of this so we have all the facts.”
The Chief Minister’s document was given to Scrutiny after a meeting last week. He has until Thursday (1st November) to respond.
A decision on whether the planned new hospital gets planning permission is expected before the end of the year.
