Jersey's Health Minister won't stand for re-election.
Deputy Richard Renouf has served in St Ouen since 2014 and has been the politician leading Jersey's response to Covid-19.
"I have served since 2014 and now reached pensionable age. It has been a privilege to serve; I have learnt a great deal and worked with inspiring teams.
But it is can also be demanding stressful work involving long hours and I don’t feel I would be able to give my best if I sought to serve for another 4 years.
If I have the opportunity in future, I would still wish to serve St Ouen or our wonderful charitable sector in some voluntary capacity."
Deputy Renouf became Health Minister in 2018 as part of a new government led by Chief Minister Senator John Le Fondre.
This year's election takes place on Thursday 22 June.
Fellow St Ouen politician Constable Richard Buchanan will also step away from the States Assembly after this term of office ends.
He's told Channel 103 that it's mainly down to health reasons and to 'reduce the level of stress.'
The Constable, who also serves as Assistant Chief Minister and Assistant External Relations Minister, says it's been an honour to serve the parish and the island for the last four years.
St Ouen will form part of a larger district with St Mary and St Peter following the electoral reforms agreed by the States Assembly.
