Hundreds Taking On Durrell Dash

More than 650 people are taking part in this year’s Durrell Dash.

The two races, of either 6km or 13km start and finish at Jersey Zoo.

Thanks to Jersey Water, runners will be able to rehydrate along the Trinity route without the use of single-use plastic bottles.

Jersey Zoo stopped selling them last year in an effort to reduce packaging and waste.

Alexandra Shears from Durrell says money raised will support the zoo’s new butterfly and tortoise exhibit.

“Just recently we’ve opened our new ‘Butterfly Kaleidoscope’ which is a new exhibit in the zoo where visitors can walk through a stunning and tropical wonderland with free-flying butterflies and tortoises.

“We just opened that last weekend, but obviously with the opening of this new exhibit comes significant running costs, heating, lots of technology, new staff etc.”
