Les Quennevais Head Gets St George's Job

Les Quennevais head teacher Sarah Hague is taking a new job at St George's school.

Sarah Hague, who has led the secondary school in St Brelade for a decade, is moving to the private preparatory school in St Peter.

She will take charge next September, succeeding Cormac Timothy who is retiring this summer.

Announcing the appointment, Chair of the Board at St. George's Paul James, said:

“Sarah is a highly experienced Head Teacher who will bring so much to the team and to the school community, as has been evidenced by the amazing job that she has done as Head Teacher at Les Quennevais School over the last decade.

We were delighted with the quality of all the applications that we received during the recruitment process, but we are now very excited and believe that we are incredibly fortunate to have someone of Sarah’s calibre coming on board."

The selection committee 'was particularly impressed by Sarah’s pioneering leadership and innovative teaching methods at Les Quennevais, as well as her commitment to curriculum development, inclusive education and staff development'.

Sarah Hague oversaw Les Quennevais' move to a new multi-million pound campus in 2020.

She says she is excited to be making the move to St George's, but will miss her current school:

“I am truly honoured to join St George’s and am excited to contribute to its rich legacy of academic excellence. My vision is to continue to foster the school’s nurturing and innovative learning environment where every student thrives.

I sincerely look forward to meeting and working collaboratively with new colleagues, students and parents to achieve new heights of success for St George’s.

Of course, I will miss Les Quennevais School’s vibrant community deeply. I have had the privilege of witnessing tremendous dedication and passion among both students and colleagues over the years there.

The rich tapestry of experiences and shared accomplishments will always hold a special place in my heart. However, I am confident that they will find an exceptional replacement to continue the important work we have undertaken together, ensuring the continued success of this wonderful school.”
