Men in Jersey continue to earn more than women, particularly those over 40, but the gender pay gap is narrowing.
Statistics Jersey has found a 5.4% overall gender pay gap in Jersey for 2025, which is 0.9% lower than in June 2024.

That is based on median hourly rates of £22.88 for males and £21.70 for females
The gap is widest for people aged over 40, while 25-29 year-old women are the only age group earning more than men of the same age.

Women working in Information and Communication sector jobs have the biggest pay disparity with their male colleagues, at 30%.
That is in contrast to women in the utilities and waste sector, who appear to have average hour earnings that are 3.4% higher.
The Gender Pay Gap report for Jersey is published annually in March.
Jersey's government recently recorded the pay gap in the public sector as 8.6%, saying it has nearly halved since 2022.
