A person with flu-like symptoms is being held in isolation in Jersey after returning from a country known to have cases of coronavirus.
Tests are currently being carried out, but the government says there is currently no evidence this person is actually suffering from the virus.
Results will be known in around 48 hours. 620 tests have already been carried out in the UK, with only three coming back positive.
The Health Department isn't releasing any more details on the person - including their age, gender, or where they're being treated for reasons of patient confidentiality.
Deputy Medical Officer of Health, Dr Ivan Muscat, is asking islanders not to worry or to speculate:
"We are working to pick up any potential cases as quickly as we can and if they present with suspected symptoms, they can be tested as swiftly as possible. This is the same as in the UK and Europe, so we are mirroring best practice."
Anyone who's come to the island from China, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia or Macau is being asked to isolate themselves for two weeks, whether they have any flu-like symptoms or not.
