Philip's Footprints introduces new 'Seymour Stroll'

Helier de Veulle will be organising new 'Seymour Stroll' trail alongside the 'Seymour Sprint' for the 6th year.

The highly anticipated Seymour Sprint returns for the 6th year with the addition of the new 6km Seymour Stroll on Saturday, 26 April.

The route of the new trail will be a loop from the beach to Seymour Slip and back, whereas the 10km run will follow the Ramsar Wetlands site to Seymour Tower and back.

Children over the age of 10 and dogs are welcome to participate in either event but must be accompanied; anyone over 16 can run unaccompanied.

Philip's Footprints founder Jo Nash says she looks forward to a busy turnout as people take the opportunity to enjoy this unique event.

"We are delighted to have the Seymour Sprint as part of our annual fundraising calendar and on such a beautiful and iconic part of Jersey's coastline.

"Our community are always such great supporters of charity and sporting events, and we look forward to a busy turnout as people take the opportunity to enjoy this unique event whilst supporting a charity at the same time."

Additional donations to the charity on the day and additional sponsorship is appreciated.

In the event's six years of running it has raised over £12,000 for Philip's Footprints, a charity which supports families impacted by child loss and provides information on safer pregnancies as well as funding professional training.

Philip's Footprints runs a variety of projects such as memory boxes to offer comfort following the loss of a child or baby and pregnancy wallets with information on keeping mothers and children safe during pregnancy.

They have donated 800 'Safer Pregnancy' wallets and 120+ memory boxes each year.

The Seymour Sprint will take place on 26 April at 11:15 am, with the Seymour Stroll setting off shortly after.

Participants must sign by 6:00 pm on Friday, 25 April, with further details on the charity can be found here.
