The countdown to Christmas officially gets underway this evening when Santa switches on St Helier’s Christmas lights.
His sleigh will lead a procession from the Millennium Town Park to West’s Centre and the Royal Square, turning on the illuminations as he goes.
Santa will be joined by a train full of children, including seven year old Bobby who won Channel 103’s Letter to Santa competition.
There will be live music, school choirs, street entertainers, food stalls and late-night shopping.
Town Centre Manager, Daphne East, says it will be worth-worth heading along to:
“It’s bigger and better every year and this year we have a few more surprises that you will have to be there to see. It’s too exciting! You have to be there to see what Santa can do this year.”
The parade starts at the Town Park at 5.45pm and is due to arrive in the Royal Square at 6.45pm.
It will finish in the Weighbridge at 7pm.
