Search for sponsors of Jersey Opera House seats

Did you sponsor a seat at Jersey Opera House when it was last renovated a quarter of a century ago?

The theatre is looking for the people who paid to have their name on one of the auditorium chairs.

They were put in in 2000, but are now being replaced as part of the current refurbishment.

Of 625, 160 were sponsored by people or organisations as part of the Friends of Jersey Opera House campaign of the time.

The plaques from the old seats will be displayed to honour past supporters of the theatre - or can be returned to them as a memento if they prefer.

Andy Eagle, Interim Theatre Director, said this is a way of making sure the people who contributed in the past are celebrated:

“We understand that many of you have fond memories of these chairs, and we want to make sure that the contributions made to the Jersey Opera House are recognised.

“While the chairs are being replaced, the legacy of those sponsorships lives on, and we want to acknowledge those who have supported us over the years.”

Anyone who sponsored a chair - who knows someone who did - should email admin@jerseyoperahouse.co.uk or call 511110.
