Another Jersey business has closed its doors for good due to rising costs.
Sugar Banana Thai Kitchen in St Aubin will not reopen, as its owner makes what she calls a 'heartbreaking decision' to stop trading.
Moe Chinram made the announcement on social media: "Due to spiralling costs with a heavy heart I have had to make a heart breaking decision.
"Sugarbanana Thai kitchen is closed for business. This decision was not made lightly and I am struggling with ill health as a direct result of the situation.
"I would like to thank all my customers and suppliers and friends and family who without you all this journey would not of been possible. Lots of love Moe🙏😔😔😞😭"
The business celebrated its sixth birthday in September, but has now shut for good.
It follows the recent closure of another eaterie Kismet Cabana at Ouaisne, which also cited rising costs as a reason for shutting.
Islanders have flocked to social media to express their sadness at the loss of another St Brelade business.
One said, "It’s truly heartbreaking to hear about the closure of your business. I deeply admire your dedication and effort in creating wonderful services and experiences for your customers."
Another commented: "Sad news - running a business in Jersey these days with such high running costs & staffing difficulties isn’t easy Moe, don’t be disheartened you gave it your best shot. x"
